I’m a day away from yesterday
And a day away from tomorrow
I need to borrow another day
Time is running away
Time is bursting at the seams
Time is melting into moonbeams
The hour is now
The hour is how
Between here and then
Beyond why and when
Where is the power in my pen?

Build me up, knock me down
The grass is green, my paddock is brown
And I watch my dream’s intrepid journey
Turn into a vagabond without an attorney
My book of magical words is mortified
Locked away, untried and unidentified
Now a piece of petrified wood on the mountainside
Is there a release button for the certified
I shall escape to the chromatic lakeside
And reclassify my reflection as unqualified

Today’s poem is one I origanally wrote in the Autumn of 2018, and here I have made a few word changes, but without altering the calm aura of the moment…
A Writers Aviary (Revised)
A cool autumn morn
Another new dawn
I am refreshed, I am alive
I roll myself over
Onto my tummy
Elbows on my pillow
The curtains are open
Gazing out the window
Through the leaves and red flowers
Of my red Bougainvillea
My courtyard’s looking homely
A bower scenery
My beautiful fernery
Full of nature’s greenery
I am feeling cosy and dreamy

Here I have revised yesterday’s poem ‘A Line in the Sand’ … by adding a stanza at the start, and a change to the final line … I’m not sure, but maybe the alterations are Ok…
A Line in the Sand (Revised)
Did you hear the latest hocus pocus?
About the world’s leaders lack of focus
And resembling old smokeless dragons
Can you sense the reloading of guns and cannons?
In my mind, I am searching for the olive tree
Please come walk with me
We will go to the seashore
And watch the dove’s soar
Hold my other hand
As I scribe a line in the sand
A message to the sky
Love and peace I decry
Will I receive an honest reply?
Or nothing, but more blind eyes?

The harmonious euphoria of music
Forever resides within the human psyche
And now wondrously, the world’s connection to the universe
As we continuously emit waves of sound into the cosmos
And we patiently wait for that responding crescendo
I wonder what symphonic theme do we broadcast?
I imagine a Sigur Ros song from their ancient Icelandic past
Would be grandly received by the alien nobles
Those dramatic orchestral tunes, vibrantly enriched by alto vocals
Reverberating through space, resonating our melodious proposals

Nine years ago today, I took my lady to the hospital for the last time, finality was on the way, and the day was her Birthday… and two weeks later, she gracefully passed away….
Gracious Lady
There is a lady on the horizon
Slender against the dusk
Sliding down with the sun
She vanished in the daytime
Hiding between the dawn
And the fading moon
A quiet and gracious lady
Who would relax on her old garden seat
There between her lily pond
And her faithful dog
Waiting graciously to be set free
Far beyond her flowering wattle tree
Forever glowing, my brightest light
Forever shining, on my darkest nights
