Timeless

This weekend on photo challenge the Weekly Prompts is. Size Matters.

Hello my dear readers, sorry  that I’m a bit silent this weekend, and maybe for the next few days as well, I’m not feeling the best, hopefully I’ll be back to my happy self soon… xx

Haiku:  Timeless

The size of our soul
Inside the beat of our heart
That is what matters

Burning The Fears

I’m frightened, and I’m too scared to wait.

And knowingly, I’m arriving late.

The ghouls are spying from the hill.

And lower fools are poisoning her will.

Underneath her, a wicker complete.

Above, she’s suspended from a stake.

The bonfires started, against the rules.

And the crowds rejoicing, as the fire drools.

Waiting agog, for her garments to ignite.

The flames are sparking for her, on this night.

And the mob’s listening for her ungodly screams.

But there’s not a whimper, within she beams.

And secretly, I see her black cats drowning tears,

Are extinguishing all her burning fears.

Bananas, Strawberries and Ice-cream

Late tonight, and I’m listening to my ‘Sia’ music playlist

Pondering my life’s forever twists

Eating, bananas, strawberries and ice-cream

Here beside my bed, covered in poetry dreams

Tullawalla booklets, full of memories and rhymes

I’m not going to cease, writing this time

I heard her singing, “keep writing for me”

“let everyone know, how life should be”

“remain the lover of our trees”

“nurture your flowers for the bees”

“continue swimming in your favourite sea”

“keep your imagination free, for yourself and me”

Yeah, no matter what

I’m not going to stop

While my sky is still up top

I’ve more to write before I finally drop

Lisa Hannigan

Here I present the music I’m listening to this morning, from an Irish singer/songwriter Lisa Hannigan.  I hope enjoy her singing, and you might like to see more of her on YouTube….

Lisa Hannigan: Lyrics.

“We, The Drowned”

We, the drowned
Hold our hollow hearted ground
Til we swallow ourselves down
AgainWe, the ashes,
We spend our days like matches
And burned ourselves as black as
The end.

We know not the fire in which we burn
But we sing and we sing
And the flames grow higher.
We read not the pages which we turn
But we sing, and we sing, and we sing, and we sing

We, the wrong,
We the sewn up and long gone,
Were before and all along
Like this

We, the drowned
The lost and found out,
We are all finished again.

Frosted Glass

Frosted Glass  (Revised)

My courtyard window is frosted

From this morning’s piercing coldness

It’s a freezing winter’s day

The wind feels like razor blades

Even the venetian blinds, are shaking

With-holding none of the external arctic blast

A frozen sparrow lays on the sill

Ready to fall, on dirt, so icy

A meagre frigid offering

To the polar Snowlord

And I’m a blizzard’s open door

A captured statue, shivering to the core

Riveted, by my eternal music score

Leonard Cohen’s, Avalanche and more

Trees, We Apologise To Thee

Today I’ve added another Haiku to my piece from yesterday to create a dual Haiku, I hope it doesn’t detract from the heartfelt intentions of my original Haiku, and I’ve also added another piece of glorious music by Ludovico Einaudi.  Thank you Kate, of Calmkate, for the excellent photo prompt

Haiku: Trees, We Apologise To Thee

Ancient trees of life

Anoint colour to the sky

Cast shadows aground

I, hugging a tree

I, apologise to thee

I, seek mindful peace

Violin Strings

Hello dear readers/followers, I’ve not taken much notice, but it seems I’ve been blogging here on WordPress for TWO years…. To celebrate the occasion, I’m re-posting one of my original poems from June/July 2017…..

Violin Strings

I’m singing a song, all about you.

Singing words, both sincere and true.

From my heart to my soul, the veins,

They’re as tight as violin strings.

I needed you, to take my hand.

Take my hand, and show me the way.

Show me the way, into a formal debut.

Show me the way, into your dancing shoes.

I needed you, to take my dreams.

Take my dreams, and show me how to behave.

Show me the way, into your family home.

Show me the way, into your holy grail.

I needed you, to take my open heart.

Take my heart, and show me how to pray.

Show me the way, into your little world.

Show me the way, into your milky-way.

I needed you, to take my old violin.

Take my violin, and show me how to play.

Show me the way, into your harp strings.

Show me the way, into all your tunes.

In finality, you unpicked the strings.

And you plucked my soul.

A broken violin.

And twisted strings.

The Wedding, I Wait In Anticipation

This week’s Word Prompt is ANTICIPATION.

The Wedding, I Wait In Anticipation

The jet-lag is really real

Yes, the fourth evening in a row

That I’ve had to go to bed early

Although I’m gradually adjusting

I’ll be back to normal by Saturday

My younger sister’s wedding day

And I’ll be reciting a poem for her

Hopefully my love for her, is expressed in these words

“Miffy And John”

” I’ve returned from distant lands

To celebrate the joining of these loving hands

Our King, knighted this man “Honest John”

We know our dad was not wrong

Our queen, bestowed this girl with kindness

We know our mum was always the best

And with their blessings from heaven

I’m proud to accept their wisdom, here on cloud seven

Wishing my gracious sister, and new brother

All the best for a glorious future together”

The Joke’s On Them, By: Brandi Carlile

“The Joke”, a song by Brandi Carlile. the lyrics(below) fascinate me, and I hope you enjoy my presentation today.

The Joke, Lyrics.

You’re feeling nervous, aren’t you, boy?
With your quiet voice and impeccable style
Don’t ever let them steal your joy
And your gentle ways, to keep ’em from running wild
They can kick dirt in your face
Dress you down, and tell you that your place
Is in the middle, when they hate the way you shine
I see you tugging on your shirt
Trying to hide inside of it and hide how much it hurts

Let ’em laugh while they can
Let ’em spin, let ’em scatter in the wind
I have been to the movies, I’ve seen how it ends
And the joke’s on them

You get discouraged, don’t you, girl?
It’s your brother’s world for a while longer
We gotta dance with the devil on a river
To beat the stream
Call it living the dream, call it kicking the ladder
They come to kick dirt in your face
To call you weak and then displace you
After carrying your baby on your back across the desert
I saw your eyes behind your hair
And you’re looking tired, but you don’t look scared

Let ’em laugh while they can
Let ’em spin, let ’em scatter in the wind
I have been to the movies, I’ve seen how it ends
And the joke’s on them

Let ’em laugh while they can
Let ’em spin, let ’em scatter in the wind
I have been to the movies, I’ve seen how it ends
And the joke’s on them
