Walking Home

Tis early, very early on a dank and foggy morn

So early, all the front bedroom lights are out ’til dawn.

And the groaning of lustful lovers, have all been timed out

Even the yapping old canines, are unusually burnt-out

I’ve been wandering these darkly streets, groping on trust

Looking for her, a little piece of wonderous stardust

All I found was a discarded mug of leftover moonshine

I Dreamily Resume


Today I am re-mingling with the herd

Quietly hovering, almost free as a bird

Restricted by my feathery mask

And trying to be chirpy is a pesky task


I have re-discovered my way again

Despite the afternoon’s gloomy rain

Rejoining a happy crew at the Box Office Cafe

Enjoying a piece of cheesecake and my coffee

And my headphones resonate a tuneful matinee

Comfy without a veil, while writing at my table

I dreamily resume rewriting last month’s fable

Toothless Broom


I am singing the same old tune  

About life’s empty room 

 
I will fly you to the moon 

To recover your silver spoon  

I will swim to Xanadu 

To save you from gloom  


I will wear a new costume  

And throw away my toothless broom

Where to Flee for My Jubilee


This Jubilee year has flown

My seventieth has been rolled and mown

Party days have been squashed

I’ll be dinning on sausages and mash

No birthday cake, and no candles

Only breadcrumbs for the snails, life is a shambles

No presents or cards on the mantle

It’s time to unhitch Itmims, and throw on my sandals
