He was an old school man.
Strong and tough
Big and rough
Kind and gentle
He was as soft as Teddy Bear
Hard and loyal
Friendly and fair
Generous and loving
He was a working class man..
Carole’s Dad’s funeral today, and it was truly a fitting tribute to a community minded man

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

Iโm glad for you that it was a lovely sending off. I completely hear you about Carole. I hope you did something loving for yourself last night and today.
Iโm away at the moment and Iโm renovating a caravan. Never had so much paint on my body and face in my life. I stink of turps ๐๐ฉ

Iโm still going. Sealing the last panels of this hideous caravan laminate that has parts that has gotten moisture in it so the chipboard is swollen and flaking. Iโm dying. Why did I invite someone here next weekend. Whhhhhhhy

Yes it was a wonderful and fitting tribute to honour a great man, who worked tirelessly for the workers and the underprivileged in our community , even had a member of Parliament, give an eulogy.

It is always so difficult to say goodbye. Writing a poem is a way to hold this dear fellow and share him others. Nicely done.
Thanks for reminding me that those I love may not be there tomorrow and to hug them today.
