Do you every have that vacant feeling
Silently in a void, wandering
Darkness has fallen
Clouds shroud the moon
Misty rain cools the night-air
Wondering what happened to your day-time
Hours of down-time
What have you done
Memories of your day have gone
Nothing in your hand
Blankness in your mind
Decoding untold stories
Writing on pure white pages
Words of invisible ink
Ink that runs away
Eloping with your pen
To find a better day
Leaving you empty again

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

Yes Ivor. Maybe not for the same reasons. But yes. Regardless of what is going on externally, it doesn’t always match up with the internally. Sometimes it matches up perfectly.

Haha regardless I’ve awoken to my new day, and that’s a perfect start, to be awake, to be alive, to hear the birds sing, to see the sun rise…. and to read some words from Colleen ππβΊοΈ

Yes, too cold, but it’s a holiday Monday here, the sun breaking through, and I’ll get out into my garden soon. I’ve built a new fernery in my little courtyard, so of to buy some ferns and things to put in my fernery.

not all days have permanent recall in our minds Ivor no matter how much we want it to and yet some stay fresh even years later. I am so glad we get to write a new story with every sunrise and sunset. This is one of those poems to re read on tough days.

Great lines.
24 hours can make such a difference in our feelings. Emptiness can find a friend and elope too leaving space for something new.
