Tears of liquid joy

Like rivers of fear

The memories so clear

And a toast to cheer

Tears of liquid joy

Like waves from the heart

Two great oceans apart

And wishing for another restart

Tears of liquid joy

Like dredged canals of the soul

Leaking from a broken porthole

And wishing for a free parole

Tears of liquid joy

A flowing molten lava

Passing a secret convoy

And singing like the last choirboy

Crying liquid joy

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  12. Lovely poem . Congratulations Ivor. I haven’t a clue how many I’ve done. I think I’ve had the odd notification and then typically forget what I was told. I might have remembered if I’d thought any of mine were as worthy of yours! Well done Ivor! 🙂

    1. The number sprung out at me, and I’ve no idea about these things, all I do is write my poems, but after 18 months, It was a pleasant surprise, thank you, and yes the poem is an old favourite xx
