G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

We can’t just blame the governments. Each individual who litters, tosses trash in the ocean, out the car window, piles it up in the backyard, neglects recycling…. the governments can’t fix what ‘we’ keep doing. We have to fix ‘our’ actions. Which makes me think of the new movements of people cleaning up beaches and oceans …. have you seen these? It is SO encouraging!!!
βAre we trying our best?β No!!! There is so much more we can do (myself included) to take better care of our planet. We should gather our poetic voices and make a book called protest poems for the earth – all proceeds go to an environmental program.
No, it’s not only you. I can see it and I care.
Such a true and poignant message in your poem, Ivor.
It’s so sad that human-beans are taking so many beautiful creatures down. π¦ And in the process human-beans will take themselves down, too.
We must each do more! We can do better!

So good, but so tragic Ivor.

I have these outbursts and rants, but better said, than left unsaid, and have them stew inside my head
