Radiant, I stand before the setting sun
I see a fiery circle, finishing her run
Heading to sleep, upon the horizon
Sinking away, from her day of diamonds
She was glowing all day, a gem of the sky
Where a windless spirit polished her golden eye

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

I was visualising the sun as my golden girl…… not whether I pulled it off… xx

Of course you pulled it off, Ivor..that’s the beauty of poetry, the writer can mean one thing with their words, and the reader may interpret it in another way, but still enjoy the beauty of the wordplay just as much. I think we hide all sorts of imagery in our words, sometimes it’s nice to keep that little secret nod to a hidden meaning to ourselves. 😊

Oh Punam, the poem means a lot to me,, I was inspired by the gorgeous sunshine of the day and then I watched sunset, like most evening’s, and I wrote these words thinking of Carole, as a spirit of the sun 🌞💛😏

It is so beautiful because you wrote it with Carole in your mind.❤️
