An Old Plumber, An Ex-Carer, An Amateur Poet, Words From The Heart
Writeabout – Two
Hello dear readers, as some of you might know, one of my writers groups here in Geelong, is ‘Belmont Page’, and in partnership with the writing group, ‘Writeabout’, from the town of Drysdale, we have self-published a book called “Writeabout – Two”. The book is a collection of short stories, poetry, and free verse, and I’m proud to say, I have nine of my poems represented in the book. I’ve attached my nine poems that were selected to be published below. The book launch was yesterday, where writers and friends from both writing groups gathered, and enjoyed afternoon tea and champagne !!
G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

So proud of my friend. Come read his poetry. (And he often shares great music!)
Thank you Carolyn, It’s been a big joint effort, and the projects has taken over a year to complete, and a special thanks our editor and writers group convener, Claudia Collins, she did a remarkable job ….. xx
Catching up again here! Just clicked on an e-mail link of one of yours from yesterday but the page couldnβt be found so Iβm guessing you re-posted again!
WP send out the e-mail notification but when you repost the poem the link from WP no longer works because the page address changes each time itβs reposted. WP donβt send out a second notification. Iβll find it on the reader
It was a wonderful project to be involved with. It took over a year to complete the book, from the first submissions to the final editing and then the publication of the book. Our writing groups convener, Claudia Collins, did a remarkable job…. xx
