With my eyes shut tight

I felt a blue shark bite

Angrily into my neck

How did he arrive on this deck

Floundering, covered in watery oil

His sad crimson eyes on the boil

The society’s outcast, washed ashore

A native ejection, from offshore bores

Hanging there, in our Great Australian Bight

And jointly, we’re sharing similar pains tonight

Both, corporate debris, lost and out of sight

He has dry landed, I am a broken kite

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS.       5. No, and I wonder that we ever will, I think they are paralysed by their lack of knowledge and inability to act, too arrogant to acknowledge their ignorance and terrified of their business friends.

  4. These are very poignant words so powerful. Too many puppets willing to fulfill the
    Evil Dream without question they go on day and night. No thought for those sacred creatures of the deep they destroy in their slurry. How do we deal with this if not now we never will.

    1. I can’t comprehend idiot politicians, in this era of planet being so fragile. But corporate greed still seems to line their oily pockets and smudge their dirty minds 🌏💙🐋

    1. So true Peter…. greedy eyes are blinded by the shiny plastic money, and through their own dirty fog, they too arrogant and ignorant to see, the light of mother-earth is fading….fast…..

      2. Hopefully not, the issue has huge public support down… maybe the stupid politicians might even start listening to the people, rather than the corporations 😉💙🌏🌏

  11. What is going on is sad and tragic.
    And you’ve captured it well in your poem!
    I wish people (and especially leaders) would wake up and take action. Seems a lot of leaders are focused on things that aren’t important…possibly to distract us from what dumb stuff they aren’t doing that they should be doing. ??? 😦

    1. I’m now a sponsor /member of the protest group, “Save the Bight”, the whole situation is horendous, and it’s on my front door… But we are making people listen. Thank you for your awareness of the situation…. More oil is not the answer, but the greedy corporations, want us to believe that 💙🌏🐋🐋💙🌏
