Chocolate And Strawberry Cake
Under a colourful dome
Escaping the four walls of home
Seeking a relaxing coffee break
And a chocolate and strawberry cake
To be free, out and about
Leaving behind non-active doubts
Trying to exercise old bones and a weary soul
Not to worry, the brains always too bold
Under a cloud of hard knocks
Sailing alone without a windsock
On a calm sea of shimmering blue
Navigating towards the horizon’s final view

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

YUM!!! π
I’m glad you got out and about, Ivor. ‘Tis good for the mind, body, heart, and soul. Especially after all you have been going through lately.
Beautiful photos, a wonderfully-expressed poem, and powerful heart-touching song.
HUGS!!! π
