Yesterday was warm and sunny
But the streets and parks were empty
And I casually walked my path quietly
When last night anxieties faded, I slept soundly
This morning is chilly and cloudy
But I’m here to visit the new day loudly
I’ll listen to the birds singing proudly
And I’ll see the busy ants dancing wildly

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

Yes, I actually wrote the title before I started on the poem, but formed the essence of the poem. 💙🌏

it’s funny how sometimes one comes before the other, and vice versa –

Thank you Gabriela…. an unusual piece for me… as I wrote the Title as a line I was going to use somewhere??…. then I write this poem this morning… and the line seemed to be a good title for my poem!!

I seem to very physically and mentally tired, although I’m happy within myself, the anxieties of isolation, must be subconsciously wearing for me……

good to take a step back. you are a people person and I know you get energy from conversation and face to face encounters. but you are so resilient and resourceful, Ivor, you always come up with great poetry in your most challenging times.

Are you under stay home orders in your country? With all this Coronavirus scare I am finding it hard to get very creative.

It seems like the opposite is happening here. Where I expect to find an isolated street….people are every where. Not in groups. But I live on a bike/walking trail. There are MANY more than normal. I see families doing exercise to keep the kids moving, I actually see MANY more families than normal. I mean HUNDREDS more. Fortunately I also see people steering clear of one another to mind the social distancing. Where I expected to see eerily quiet streets…I’m not!
