The evening cloudy sky

Is glowing your colour red

My night’s ground is trembling

I hear an unearthly gale blowing

From where the half moon is howling

And I see your star is shaking

 

No, my dearest

I’ve not forgotten

You’re rattling my windows

Earlier than normal

Then that’s definitely you

Always ready and on time

 

I’ve yet to pick new flowers

For your pure white vase

Yes, forever watching over you

These years have flown

But today, feels like tomorrow

My memory tears

Are all for you

And I’m still singing your song

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

Carole’s birthday…and I’ve had lovely morning… went to the cemetery and met Carole’s brothers there, and we all sang ‘Happy Birthday’ for her, and I went for a walk down to Pako… our village shopping street, I bought a coffee and a cake… and 2 bottles of ‘our’ fav’ red wine,… one for me, and ‘one’ for her…. xx

        Don’t drink both bottles at once, you might get morose ❤

    1. I’m out under my verandah, doing BBQ lamb, chops, listening to Janis Joplin, her fav’… having a glass of red wine, Wynn’s, Coonawarra Estate, Cabernet Sauvignon 20{17}..her fav’ 🍷❤️🎶💙🌏

  11. I was feeling the emotions here Ivor. Then I read in the comments it is Carole’s birthday. What a lovely way to spend her day, with her brothers, cake and coffee and topped off with wine. Happy Carole’s Birthday to you.
