My World, Beyond The Front Door

Apologies to my readers and followers for not commenting on your articles with my usual zest…. but I’m out in the big bad world, busy working as a plumber again, and by the time I get home I’m a tired bag of bones….. For everyone who’s isolated at home, I thoroughly recommend that you have a look at a YouTube program called “BAD SEED TEEVEE”, featuring Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, with interviews, film clips, songs, old videos, and they are on 24/7,  produced for your pleasure as a “Stay Home” show…….

My World, Beyond The front Door

I’m feeling dead tired

But not quite dead yet

More like terribly tired

But I’m not that terrible

Call me awfully worn out

No! Don’t say I’m awful

The poet has gone missing

He’s back to wearing blue overalls

On the tools, as a plumber again

An old working class man

Ouch! My poor soft little paws

Are blistered and sore

And I leave my comfy writing desk

Now a vacant treasure chest

While I venture out onto real soil

Visiting my world of intriguing toil

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

    1. Lol… a poem on the run before I went to work… I’m early because it’s pouring rain…that’s ok I was nearly worn out anyhow….. at nearly 69, I tire quickly… 😄🙄

    1. Thank you Ali.., not as strong and fit as I used to be, but I’ll finish the job today, then I’ll back as a poet, which is definitely more comfy for my old body.. 😊🤗

  1. I hope this comment finds you calm 🙂 And I must say it requires great talent to create poems out of everyday things in life.
