Looking Through A Window

What a dull way

To start a poem

“Looking through a window”

I was told by my teacher

If he saw a poem

Beginning with that line

He wouldn’t read the verse

Saying the words were over used
But in all honesty

Here I am

Sitting at my desk

“Looking through a window”
And the sky is a gloomy gray

So what else could I say

About this lonesome day

Another one of solitary downplay
Waiting patiently for a new entree

Writing this empty essay

Listening to the rains crescendo

“Looking through a window”

Togetherness

Togetherness

I remember

Bringing you two into my house

And quietly I sat with you

Upon my courtyard bench

You were both

Dry and lifeless

I diligently prepared your beds

And gently tucked you two in

Wishing you a bright and prosperous future

With care and love

Under my watchful eye

Together you flourished and adorned my home

And together your arms reached out

Embracing each other

Now here together

We live together as one

My Story “From Every Moment A Second”

The lines written in Italic, are book titles from my library….

My Story, “From Every Moment A Second”

From the beginning of my lonely times

When I Was Gone

And there was

The Black In My Bedroom, The Star In My Sky

I would return

Close To Nature

My world began opening up

The Day I Saw The Hummingbird

Singing the tune of

The Wordless Songbook

I started to see

A different Kind Of  Angel

Behind the closing of

The Yellow Door

After reading about desires in a

Book Of Longing

My Bible became

The Flame

And now in life

I Have A Bird To Whistle

Blue Sky Moon

Blue Sky Moon

I do wonder why

In our blue daylight sky

You are wandering there

Giving us your half stare

From your comfy afternoon chair

And not your usual midnight glare

You, our beaming day time Moon

With your cultured silver spoon

Are you able to save us soon?

From our poisoned gloom

You, being so open and brave

Without the cover of your shadowed wave

Have you the united power source?

And the cunning of a Trojan Horse

A Violet, and A Blade Of Grass(today)

A Violet and A Blade Of Grass

Years ago I met a pretty young lady

With hair the colour of autumn leaves

I liked her, and she liked me

And our courtship flourished rapidly

One day we were walking down by the river

Where I casually paused to pick a flower

And I gently placed the violet in her hair

She fondly smiled, and said quietly

“Open your hand, I’ve a gift for you too”

Upon my palm she tenderly placed a blade of grass

“There, that is to signify my eternal love for you”

I blushed and smile, and said proudly

“As mother nature is my witness, I love you”

“And thank you, for this blade of grass”

“I shall treasure your kindness forever”

My heart was pounding, as I steadily took her hand

And uttered the words, “Would you like to marry me”

Shine On, Shine On..

Her distant star shines
Walking down by the river
My life’s always fine………..
