G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

Lovely poem, Ivor. β€ Wanting to leave something behind is a theme that is so relatable to me! π
I think it is what drives us to write. Your poem has beautiful imagery. I hope I have interpreted your last verse correctly. Are you planning to publish a book of your poems some time soon?
I love your plants, especially the ferns. The musical selection was a perfect partner to your poem.
Yes, you are definitely leaving something behind for generations to know the power of your love and the power in your words. You’ve shared so much, Ivor! Eagerly awaiting your book of wisdom and rhymes….
Oh, what a wonderful poem, Ivor! Your word-pics are vivid and powerful! π
Your words/poems and the beautiful emotion that birth-ed them is an amazing legacy you WILL leave behind for generations after you! YOU WILL LIVE ON IN YOUR WRITING! Isn’t that wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! π And you will live on in our hearts. π
Love the photos…the greenery “screams” hope and life! π
And, of course, you know I love Mr. Rowe’s voice! π
HUGS!!! π
Sean Rowe’s song is lyrically outstanding… xx .. and with the poem, I was hoping to capture the mood of my achievement, in actually being able to process a manuscript that might be good enough to be published… after being on the brink of illiteracy 20 years ago… ππ ((Hugs))
Guess what? After long and busy days…every night I treat myself to a few more of your poems! I look forward to the time I can sit down and read a few more. π
I am up to Chapter 3!!!
Guess what, again?! I get teary-eyed because so many of them are so beautiful, some are so heart-touching…and the tears come because as a whole they are so powerful…all together in one place they are YOU! YOUR thoughts, YOUR experiences, YOUR wisdom, YOUR kindness, YOUR life, ETC! π And that gets me all teary-eyed! The world NEEDS your poetry book, Ivor!
Oh… best I wipe the tears out of my eyes, and go down to the Box Office Cafe and a have a coffee and cake ((Hugs)).. I just wrote this for you…. a dual haiku….
Today is Here
I walk past today
Remembering yesterday
Tomorrow is mine
Today my earth blooms
Yesterday is forgotten
Tomorrow I shine
Wow.. Wendi thank you.. I wanted it to be a good one, because it’s about the manuscript /book that I am writing… Yes, a very exciting project for me.. πππππ
