Today I am presenting the “second” ‘5min’ poem that I wrote at Ali Grimsham’s ‘Writing Circle’ Zoom meeting, that I attended on Monday this week, and this was my 4rd session/week with the group, and I am having a delightful time. Here is the page link to get more information about the next writing circle. https://flashlightbatteries.blog/online-writing-circles/ Tickets by donation. All are welcome.
Memory Questions
Where do timeless memories dwell
Why don’t they stay in their padded cell
Where are the corridors of their whisper taunts
How do they escape the deepest of haunts
Why emerge on every celebration day
Who is in charge of the padlock today
Ivor Steven (c) Feb 2021

Beautiful poem – fond memories of loved ones – so can relate to your penned words.

An exquisite poem, Ivor! Relatable. Memories lie in wait and flash upon our consciousness so unexpectedly! Have a wonderful day. May all your memories be beautiful ones. ❤

‘Who is in charge of the padlock’ – oh I love that. Sometimes they just come flooding out, don’t they? For better or for worse!

Such a heart-touching trio, Ivor! The quote, your poem, and the music!
Your poem poses some important questions…things I have pondered, too.
Oh, those not-good memories do have a way of trying to dominate our minds.
(((HUGS))) 🙂

Thank you Carolyn.. Haha, I had lots of questions, but very few answers…. but we don’t have to know all the answers… to be able to still ask the questions is good enough for me… ((Hugs))

Yes. And it’s good to ask the questions. Gets our brains a’pondering and our actions engaged. 🙂
Plus it gets other people thinking in the right direction! Your poems are excellent at getting the rest of us thinking and feeling in great directions! 🙂

Thank you Dwight, and I’m sorry I didn’t get back to you earlier… the publishing process of my book is consuming a lot of my time… and I know I have missed a few of your posts/articles lately… there seems to be only one Ivor over here in Geelong .. 😀😎

Oh, don’t worry Ivor, I think I have missed a couple of yours as well. We only have so much of us to spread around. I understand completely!
