Here I have revised yesterday’s poem ‘A Line in the Sand’ … by adding a stanza at the start, and a change to the final line … I’m not sure, but maybe the alterations are Ok…
A Line in the Sand (Revised)
Did you hear the latest hocus pocus?
About the worldβs leaders lack of focus
And resembling old smokeless dragons
Can you sense the reloading of guns and cannons?
In my mind, I am searching for the olive tree
Please come walk with me
We will go to the seashore
And watch the doveβs soar
Hold my other hand
As I scribe a line in the sand
A message to the sky
Love and peace I decry
Will I receive an honest reply?
Or nothing, but more blind eyes?
Ivor Steven (c) April 2021

Beautiful! I love the new last line! β€ Have a great day, Ivor!

I did wonder about your poems being published here first. What about the ones in your booklets for charity, do they count as previously published?

Oh Sue.. I wouldn’t have clue … but they should be ok because they are on public blog site .. (I hope) !! π

I’ve just spent the whole day deleting all of my published blog poems that appear in my book ..
and because a number of my poems appear multiple times through my blog, I had to delete about 200 poems !! … one at time ….
Wow … job done … Phew.. ππ

Oh, I am sorry to hear about your dilemma, Ivor! Yes, it is a requirement by Amazon that the poems in your book can’t be published elsewhere. Reason why is Amazon pays royalties and they don’t want to compete against “free”, which means followers can read it for free on your blog. I’ve been getting royalties for 3 years on the 2 poetry books I published and yes, I have to file a 1099 tax form.

Thank you Eugenia.. I think I have nearly sorted it out … I’ve supplied Amazon a catalogue, with all the dates of my selected poems of when they were first published on my blog/website .. and today I’ve deleted the poems from my ‘site’ that in my “Book” .. haha 129 of them .. one at time…
