A Living Legend

Mother nature is my gardener

My living dance of life

I follow her guiding waltz

And let her conduct the lead


Where everything in her wonderland is real

Everything I touch, I can feel

And inside every blade of grass

Everything I see is a fairyland field


Every aroma from the magical forest

Gently breezes across my forehead

Every midnight moonbeam

Covers me in a silver dreams

Every golden ray of sunshine

Lights up my dreams like a neon sign


I cannot control the sun

I cannot control the waves

But I can control the energy I receive


From every moment there is a second

Every second is a piece of time’s errand

Every errand is a part of life’s legend

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

      Oh wow .. Ivor is a lucky guy .. one of friend’s wife has made me a lemon sponge cake 🍰 and she has just dropped it off

    PS…Wow…Hanna Kah’s new song is so powerful and beautiful! It brought the tears flowing. Each person in the vid is such a beautiful person! Oh, if we could truly have all people accept us as we are.

    1. I wrote the poem for myself, to spark myself up … my words worked !! .. and yes Hanna Kah’s song is very moving … yep .. tisues for Ivor too … I sent her my article with her song on it, and she was very happy .. their song is truly lovely and deserves to do well in Europe 😀😊😍😎,…

  14. I wish my best friend could share your positivity. She lets her 98 year old mother rule the roost and allows her to bring her down on a daily basis. Her mother knows how to guilt shame her. I loved the poem and the video. Both are very powerful.

      1. Recently, I have been very stressed out with my M.sc program in ULIS, VNU Hanoi, Vietnam and career. But on a general scale, I’m doing pretty great. What about you? Thanks for your concern, Ivor.
