Today’s poem “Untethered”, is also uncaptured … a submission of mine that failed at the selection table, but not to worry, because now I am allowed to publish the poem here on my websibe …

Untethered


With my back against the setting sun

I will fly toward a placid place, not yet overrun

Where the ground is not made of buried heads and limbs

I will untether my sturdy spacecraft Itmims*

And traverse the universe to discover a new world

Another planet of wonderment, yet unfurled


Where rivers and oceans are crystal clear

And unmasked, I can breathe the atmosphere

Where flowering plains are home to sacred trees

And native fauna roam wild and free

*Itmims, Ivor’s time machine in micro space

      “Itmims”

      Welcome aboard my bubble ship, Itmims
      Come fly with me into the unknown
      We shall traverse time and space
      Across the borders of level seven
      Beyond the boundaries of intelligence
      We’ll discover the story of Tullawalla
      Capture the heart of a beautiful red-head
      Learn about her journey of grace and bravery
      Understand the depth of your soul
      Show others what happens to the heart
      Find your star, your colour, your lost art
      Walk deserts in space, swim the Milky-way
      Breathe the air I breathe, see what I see
      Feel her soft red hair, on your cheek
      Step inside my Itmims, sharing love on the high seas

Haha .. brain-wave, I love that … I made my Itmims when I was in hospital recovering from my 3rd stroke, I was feeling I needed to escape my present world and find a place to rest .. 🛸🛸😄🌏😁 .. so the picture is my drawing of Itmims from my time in hospital and when my hand was good enough to draw .. the nurses put it on the white board in my room. .. and over the next few weeks I filled the white board with poems while I was recovering .. the whole process was great therapy for me ..😄🌏🛸🛸

      6. The process kept me sane during my time there .. nearly 2 months overall … I had another stroke while I was in hospital .. my writing kept my mind active .. 😄📖

    1. Thank you Carolyn .. yes I had fun creating this poem … flying in my “Itmims” through the universe, and really there’s no other planet like earth … so best we start repairing the damage quickly !! 🌏🌎🛸🛸😄♥️
