Under a Clear Blue Sky, I’m Thinking of You
(Happy Birthday Dad)

Oine hundred years ago

When the summer sun

Rose for you

Did the midday moon?

Shine on you too

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. Oh, what a beautiful tribute to your precious dad on what would’ve been his 100th birthday!!! Lovely photos, sweet poem, wonderful song! (Yes, pass the tissues…I’m joy-teary eyed! πŸ™‚ )
I feel like I’ve learned a lot about your dad through you and your writings and comments, Ivor…and I DO believe the sun and moon shone (smiled) on him on the day of his birth..AND I believe on gray gloomy days he brought light into any place he entered! πŸ™‚
(((HUGS))) and enjoy your memories of him!! ❀️❀️
