Peace and Harmony

The friendly magpie 
Landed gently on the back 
Of the sleepy foal 
And quietly said 

“Thanks, I hope you don’t mind
if I stay here and rest my weary wings,
your new fur is so soft and warm”

With eyes half open
The foal looks up
Knowingly smiles, and replies

“Make yourself at home
and while you are there
could you please shoo away
those pesky flies for me”

“Then we can both share
this patch of nature’s turf
in peace and harmony”

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  7. Absolutely love this! Perfect trio of Derrick photo (such a sweet photo! one of my faves!), Ivor poem (this poem brought joy-tears to my eyes! pass the tissue, please!) and song/vid! Beautiful! 🙂

    1. Thank you for your wonderful words Carolyn, … as soon as I saw Derrick’s charming photo, I told him I would write a poem… and I think my interpretation of his photo matched the glorious day nature was presenting us on our walkie … 🤗🌏😍🌙🌞🌓🐶🎼💕
