Screaming From the Hills

For this week’s Wednesday Challenge from “Weekly Prompts” they’ve chosen the word: HABITS… Please go and visit their fabulous site by clicking >> HERE…Below is my response to their prompt…. again my poem has taken an abstract look at one of my old habits….

Screaming From the Hills

Time for the car and I to leave the garage

And drive to the old mountain range

Many years have passed and been spun around

Since I stood atop that ancient mound

And cleared my lungs from inside the clouds

Yelling hallowed words to distant crowds

I’d listen for the valley to answer so loud

A thousand voices echoing so proud

Me, with my cheeky grin, commanding the world

To hear those profound words that I had hurled

If not to the world, then to all within range

As I screamed. “Peace and love are not estranged”

But was I only a foolish dreamer on a hill

Rewriting and rebounding old habits from my quill

Weariness

I’m not one, to feel depressed

This is more an aura, of been oppressed

Bones are aching

Muscles are throbbing

And I feel like I’ve run a marathon

But I’ve hardly ventured out into the fray

Here I am in isolation

Wondering about the sun’s X-rays

I’m not one, to feel depressed

This is more an aura, of been oppressed

I’ve a thumping headache

My misty eyes are tired

And I feel like I’ve rewritten the Bible

But I’ve only been writing a poem a day

Here I am in isolation

Wondering about my future’s stairway

Full Circle (Again)

Full Circle

Autumn leaves are falling

But there you are, stoically flowering

Despite a dry season of suffering

You’re proudly alive and thriving

What is it?

Is it a notion? To defy nature’s calling

What is it?

Is it a potion? To help those surviving

Are you the antidote?

For healing the dying

Have you an answer?

To resuscitating the living

I do not wish to hide my origins, I am what I am” ~ Unknown . The weekend challenge from “Weekly Prompts” is: What Is It ?  Please go and visit their fabulous site by clicking >>HERE … Below is my response to the prompt, and maybe my poem slightly deviates from the prompt. But “what is it”, about this ‘virus’, that has so many unanswered questions ?

Once Upon A Time

Once Upon A Time

The evening cloudy sky

Is glowing your colour red

My night’s ground is trembling

I hear an unearthly gale blowing

From where the half moon is howling

And I see your star is shaking

No, my dearest

I’ve not forgotten

You’re rattling my windows

Earlier than normal

Then that’s definitely you

Always ready and on time

I’ve yet to pick new flowers

For your pure white vase

Yes, forever watching over you

These years have flown

But today, feels like tomorrow

My memory tears

Are all for you

And I’m still singing your song

We’re All Here As One

In this week’s Wednesday challenge “Weekly Prompts” have chosen a very important word for the time we are living in : VULNERABILITY. Please go and visit “Weekly Prompts” site by clicking >>HERE.  Yes we are definitely living in vulnerable times of isolation and distancing. My poem below is about staying connected via our websites. And Hanna Kah’s website platform, is a good example of putting your talents out there, for everyone to enjoy… Here’s the link to their site > https://www.culture-y.com/  , and for an added bonus, if you click onto their site, and click ‘Home’, and then click on the video on their Header Page, you’ll get a video show of Hanna Kah’s live performance, from in her lounge-room studio…. please enjoy the show….

We’re All Here, As One

Mid afternoon

Time for a cuppa and cake

In the safety

Of my writing haven

Sheltering under the verandah

Listening to Hanna Kay’s music

Via a direct connection to Germany

Playing songs from her lounge-room

All the way to my courtyard

I’m all alone here

However, I’m sharing all of my words

To all of you readers

From all around the world

We’re all at a distance apart

But we’re all here, as one

My Easter Poem Lands In Mainz

My Easter poem “An Old Book Closes, a New Door Opens” , has grown wings, and landed in Germany (Mainz), via a website platform calledCulture-Y >> https://www.culture-y.com/das-format/

CULTURE-Y is an initiative of the Mainz band Hanne Kah. “Now, at a time when we face restrictions in everyday life, we feel all the more that cohesion is the most important formula for living together. Therefore, we decided to show all the wonderful actions and projects that impress and motivate across generations.”

“With this initiative we want to offer a platform for everything that is created “out there” in Mainz and the world so that it can move into your living room.”

“Everything should be possible on our portal. We think across generations and will unconditionally show everything that seems important and right to us. We will not be able to guarantee that every image is produced in high gloss, that technology always plays along. It remains handmade and that’s a good thing. We can already assure one thing: We believe in our platform and would be very happy if you would like to be part of our community.”

“Show us your creativity and send us your contributions. Let’s make CULTURE-Y great!..”
