Sometimes and Other Times

sometimes my mind feels as big as the ocean
other times my mind is a grain of sand on the beach

sometimes I wonder how vast is this universe
other times, I am only a speck of dust dispersed

sometimes I feel my star is reaching out for me
others times I am a fish swimming alone in the sea

sometimes I hear the humming of birds and bees
other times I am deaf to the hallowed sounds of dying trees

Sometimes I see the dark side of the moon after midnight
other times I am blind to the world’s unnatural blights

sometimes I am asleep, and all I ever do is have silly dreams
other times I am awake, and only care about strawberries and cream

Lingering Songs

sometimes I wished

for love to linger longer

other times I wished

my soul was stronger

old love lingers on

within lullaby songs

is my heart right or wrong?

sometimes when the music plays on and on

I hear my angel humming along

Pink Moon

My “Moon” poems have been shining for 10 days now, and today “Pink Moon” is the final poem in my series of “Moon Poems”, which coincides with Holloween tonight …And this piece I wrote in April this year..

Pink Moon

Beyond the shimmering sand

And a comforting hand

A gracious spirit is in command

Wandering along life’s deviations

Are not treasonous reactions

A change of mindset to the left of centre

May create a mystical adventure

Tonight there shines a super-moon

Bring a bowl, cream, and spoon

And share in the sweetness of pink moonbeams

That revive lost souls and sanction forgotten dreams

A Slithery Moon

Hi readers and followers, today I am re-posting another “Moon”poem, but here in this introspective piece (March 2021), the moon seems to be slipping away from me …

A Slithery Moon

Sunday softy sings

Undone on the wind

For a drowning underling

Tiredness creeps in

Church bells ring

For more silent writings

Numbness drops a teaspoon

Eyes close for the afternoon

Awaiting a slithery moon

Moon Shadows And Celestial Lights (Revised)

I am ‘Moon-struck’ this week, and here is another “Moon” poem, which I originally wrote in May 2018, and today I am posting a new version that I revised this morning ..

Moon Shadows And Celestial Lights

I stood alone

in my second-hand clothes

holding her worn out soul

silently

I placed her ashes

in a brick wall

years of heartache

hidden in a chasm of pain

moments in time

now resting in peace

How does tomorrow become another day?

how does the past live with today?

Her moon shadows shyly tiptoe through my nights

as my hazy dreams glow under her celestial lights

Purple Vessels

Today while I was writing this poem a wondrously magical coincidence happened to to me via my Instagram Site… I received an article from a Geelong singer/songwriter, Arjuna, the her new song was up on YouTube, and the title of her brand new single is “Vessel” … and of course I have attach her music/video as my feature song below .. .. and congratulations to “SheIsAjuna” on her fabulous song.

Purple Vessels

Purple is the colour of my dreams

Flowers are the vessels of true love

The fragrant rosemary bush from Tullawalla

Represents the essence of my father’s life

And I visualize my mother’s angels

Floating above the basket of fairy lavenders

My Fragile cyclamen plant

A loving gift from Carole’s favourite carer

The delicate and everlasting drooping violet

Began growing forty-five years ago

Planted by Dad to celebrate our marriage

Annually producing our beautiful wedding flower

A purple shaped vessel of eternal love

Dreams Unseen

Dreams Unseen

I cannot run no more

And I cannot swim the sea

But I can fly

In my sky of dreams

I have stopped climbing trees

And I cannot move mountains

But the highest peaks

Are not in my dreams

I have not embraced the mystery

Of my universe

Nor found my shining star

But I am here today

Floating on my ocean of dreams

Downhill Run

A dreamy love poem I wrote in May 2018, which was published by Prolific Pulse Press, in their Anthology Heart Beats, edited by Lisa Tomey.

Downhill Run

I was dreaming

Plotting and scheming

Following you skiing

Running the slope, gliding

Twists and twirls

Loops and hoops

Our hearts were racing

Downhill and dancing

Spirals and swirls

Joyous smiles

Swishing faster and faster

Swooping last to first

Silver and gold

Winners and grinners

Your curls unfurl

Ruby hair unfolds

Beauty I behold

Frozen bliss

We kiss

Soul to soul
