Gatherers

On my morning walk I took these interesting photos

Gatherers

There!

In the forest fringe

Gathering among the leaves and bark

Stood wooden knives and forks

The forks way outnumbered the knives

Why?

Were the splintered knives

On the cutting edge of extinction

Have the forks?

Wisely discovered the point?

That being one of nature’s gatherers

Is the only way to survive humanities

Wasteful and wanton waves of settlers

“Another Yellow Door”, by C Faherty Brown, my Review.
And you find Colleen’s book on Lulu Books, and also read all the other great reviews via this link >> https://www.lulu.com/shop/c-faherty-brown/another-yellow-door/paperback/product-r9jk4m.html?q=another+yellow+door&page=1&pageSize=4

“Another Yellow Door” enticingly invites you to join Bronagh on her travel log of adventure across USA, via an “off the beaten track” journey. Bronagh has converted her purpose-bought cargo van into a self-contained home on wheels, which has a distinct side opening “Yellow Door”. The door on her van proves to be like a yellow honey hive, attracting various characters who are openly curious enough to enquire about Bronagh’s fascinating van and her journey’s adventures. Bronagh is brave, but not overly confident of what she wants to achieve, or the actual purpose of her quest. She doesn’t know where she is traveling to, or why she is traveling in that direction … No Matter, jump aboard, sit in the empty passenger seat and enjoy the ride. You won’t be disappointed with where ever her journey happens to take you, and you’ll be more than enchanted with whoever she meets along the way. There were times I smiled with tears of joy and sometimes I cried tears of sadness … and overall I thoroughly enjoyed reading “another” fabulous book by C Faherty Brown

My collection of Colleen’s fabulous

I think Colleen has the same number of books as “Leonard Cohen” in my bookcase.

Who’s Rowing My Boat in the Dark?

I’m reposting this poem of mine from August 2020, for two reasons. 1. The poem gives me a chance to present one of my favourite songs by Leonard Cohen. 2. I like this poem, because the piece is open for the reader to interpret my thoughts images in whatever way their feel is right for them.

Who’s Rowing My Boat in the Dark?

Am I in hibernation?

Or am I lacking inclination?

Am I awake and living?

Or just lying here dreaming?

Why do I dream so much?

Visions feel alive to touch

Half-awake, I scribble these notes

Half asleep, am I falsely afloat?

On my mystical Noah’s Ark

Have I the right to ask?

Who’s rowing my boat in the dark?

Is it Her, my brave Joan of Ark?

Fiery Pearls and an Ambient Eye

This weekend, at Weekly Prompts the challenge word is: Focus. Please go and visit their fabulous site by clicking on >> Here … and below is my response to their prompt; Focus …

Fiery Pearls and an Ambient Eye

“Since I don’t believe in anything

I can pretend about everything” … (anonymous)

The stars are the universe’s fiery pearls

And when smoke falls into my eyes

Her fading ashes singe my heart

The silver moon is my world’s ambient eye

And when my mind falls out of focus

His silvery beams enlighten my soul

New Born Lambs

New Born Lambs

Here, on the edge of suburbia

Wide bitumen rivers

Plough through barren fields

On nearby deserted hills

Giant man made towers pierce the clouds

The midday winter sun

Forgot to open her eyes

And failed to warm

The frost bitten land

Where new born lambs

Tremble and struggle to stand

Here, I silently search

For her guiding hand

While passionately waiting

For Mother Nature’s last command

Imagination (revised)

We walked pass the ‘Imagination Garden Kindergarten & Childcare’ centre this morning, and I was reminded of this poem I wrote in August 2020, when the building was being constructed. All the photos in my post here today were taken this morning at the “Imagination” centre ..

Imagination (revised)

Boldly, the sign “Imagination” is written on the wall

The silent gift of creativety that is given to us all

Imagination looks beyond the distant horizon

To where a blue sky unites the oceans

Imagination looks above the gathering dark clouds

To where a golden sun dispels all doubts

Imagination looks inside the essence of nature

To where a nurtured animal instinct matures

Imagination looks outside the boundaries of mankind

To where a human mind can roam unconfined

And peacefully co-exist nonaligned
