Haven’t Seen You For A While

I’m keeping the celebrations up, of my two years here on WordPress. Here’s another one of my earliest poems, which was originally written seven years ago, but first posted on my blog,  June 8th 2017.

Haven’t Seen You For A While

Woke up dreaming of your petite smile.

And pondering, I haven’t seen you for a while.

That generous grin, making you so cute.

So pleasing, and so alluring, seems to suit.

Dreaming of your grace and gorgeous style.

And thinking, I haven’t seen you for a while.

The glow on your face, reminiscing sweet things.

A silky smooth body, with all it’s offerings.

Dreaming of your thighs, where the harp sings.

And sensing, I haven’t seen you for a while.

The sweat of our loving, a distant past.

‘Twas pure lust, sharing to the last.

Dreaming of your love, and more tender scenes.

And realising, I haven’t seen you for a while.

Please take the time to listen to Damien Rice, sing and play live, this amazing version of his song “I Remember”

This Is What Matters

My Thursday evenings, are a boys night out

As usual, we drank and chattered

Opinions on every general topic

No politics nor religion

We talk about important issues

Mainly, travel, music and sports

Lively banter, of who’s who

Any, this and thats

We know what matters

And how to save a world in tatters

Then I was asked about my trip

My adventures in New York

And the meeting of my cousins and their families

In the warmth of Philadelphia

Fondly, I mentioned my time there

With cousins Ken, Maureen and Terry

And of course, my special niece, Kerri

I explained how they thoroughly spoilt me

I said “Truly the best time of my life”

Slowly tears welled in my eyes

And my friends, saw the liquid joy in my heart

I Shower You All, A Thousand Kisses Deep

Family, friends and followers

Lend me yours ears

I’ve only been blogging

Not even two years

A medium I did not understand

A venue way exceeding my expectations

A happening beyond my imagination

A journey I lovingly shared

I have enjoyed every unsteady step

What else can I say

I shower you all, “A Thousand Kisses Deep”

And my Nautilus is awash with likes

Fifty Thousand Leagues (likes) Under The Sea

In my ocean full of pleasure and love

I Thank you all

I am not drowning, but resurrected

Love Comments, I Did Write

The ink of love in my pen

Runs endless and free

Obvious to those who feel and see

All life’s errors don’t happen

Through our fault

All life’s righteousness happens

Through our Kindness

Goodness is the quiet achiever

The underdog we all barrack for

The purest winner amongst evil losers

Our hope for better days ahead

Keeps the colours in our hearts alive

A locked heart

Needs a gentle key

At the start

I exist

You exist

Together on this land

Existence is grand

Hello Dad

Hello Dad, and happy birthday, you were the most honourable and kindest man of my life. I’ve got a lot live up to Dad, my dear friend.

**By one of my favourite writers, Colleen of, “The Chatter Blog”, a superb piece

Etched In Stone

“When your father’s name is etched in stone

It is never as indelible

As the etching in your heart”       —  Colleen Faherty Brown

**By one of my favourite musicians, Neil Young, and his song “Old Man”

“Old Man”
“Old man look at my life,
I’m a lot like you were.
Old man look at my life,
I’m a lot like you were.

Old man look at my life,
Twenty four
and there’s so much more
Live alone in a paradise
That makes me think of two.

Love lost, such a cost,
Give me things
that don’t get lost.
Like a coin that won’t get tossed
Rolling home to you.

Old man take a look at my life
I’m a lot like you
I need someone to love me
the whole day through
Ah, one look in my eyes
and you can tell that’s true.

Lullabies, look in your eyes,
Run around the same old town.
Doesn’t mean that much to me
To mean that much to you.

I’ve been first and last
Look at how the time goes past.
But I’m all alone at last.
Rolling home to you.

Old man take a look at my life
I’m a lot like you
I need someone to love me
the whole day through
Ah, one look in my eyes
and you can tell that’s true.

Old man look at my life,
I’m a lot like you were.
Old man look at my life,
I’m a lot like you were.”        — Neil Young

Downhill Run

A dreamy love poem I wrote in May 2018, which was published by Prolific Pulse Press, in their Anthology Heart Beats, edited by Lisa Tomey.

Downhill Run

I was dreaming

Plotting and scheming

Following you skiing

Running the slope, gliding

Twists and twirls

Loops and hoops

Our hearts were racing

Downhill and dancing

Spirals and swirls

Joyous smiles

Swishing faster and faster

Swooping last to first

Silver and gold

Winners and grinners

Your curls unfurl

Ruby hair unfolds

Beauty I behold

Frozen bliss

We kiss

Soul to soul
