Lights Above Bridges
by Ivor Steven

Bridges span our invisible years
And carry our many fallen tears
Crossing over old hidden fears

Bridges are burnt over time
Years turn to ashes in an instant
And time is our only constant

Beyond the longest bridges
Under the ocean’s deepest blue
And above nature’s darkest green
Love’s evolving hues renew
And Aurora lights are on debut

Connected


up there

under draconian dark clouds

I see a blue moon rising

gracefully shrouding the horizon


meanwhile


back here

on terra firma

woodland Autumn leaves are

colourfully crowning her mounds


where nature’s

unruffled fauna are found

gratefully grazing upon her

wounded ground

Flying Behind aMask

I’m on the flight to far away lands

Chatting to a lady beside me, Sue

She’s a fellow poet too

A member of the Canberra Writer’s

I’m a long long way from home

Travelling back in time

Already two hours behind

Jetting my way to ancient China

To visit the old Forbidden City

Palace of bygone Dynasty’s

Then I’ll walk upon The Great Wall

Feel the ghostly bones beneath my toes

Who’s to say dead fish don’t fly

I’m eating Barramundi and bamboo sauce in the sky

Watching Nick Cave performing on screen

His spectacular concert in Copenhagen

Sipping on a Wolf Blass red wine

I’m relaxing and flying high

Cracks in the Dome

Cracks In The Dome



I can hear bells ringing from the Placebo Dome

Through the cracks in my wall here at home

And still they are singing the same old anthem

Hollow words of charming wit and blunt sarcasm

Resonating from the dysfunctional meetings in Glasgow

Declaring they have saved the planet from a deadly afterglow




Absurdly, far too ironic

In a town so green and iconic

With their faces all aglow

Ashamed they were too slow

Because there’s not enough dough

Although

The world continues to produce live ammo

Cyberspace, And Melted Digital’s (Revised)

I’ve been having Internet and computer problems for 3 days and have dug up this old poem and revised its

Cyberspace and Melted Digitals


This crazy, distorted cyberspace

Can be a dishonest place

Like talking to aliens from outer-space

False profiles and no trace


I dislike hackers with no face

And avoid their shameful attacks, what a disgrace

As if they’re hiding from the human race

Or thieves of other writers database


I’d like to knot together their shoelaces

See them fall from grace

Straight down their slippery staircase

And melt their digital’s in the fireplace
