Another sunrise
And my red rose has wilted
I knew she could not stay
Although I sacredly
Stood her in holy water
Nurturing her fading life
As I watched her weep
Petals, one by one
Weaken and fall
Anointing her finality
Leaving a barren stem
Sturdy and alone
Reciting eulogies
About a lost Autumn flower
And that last, red rose sunset

Haiku:
I Was Given A Red Rose
Dreams of a red rose
Sleep-in Saturday morning
The world waits for more

Hello dear readers, I’ve been entranced by this song by ‘Sleeping At Last’, called ‘Saturn. The lyrics are purely superb, and they have been loudly resonating within my heart over the last few days, and I adore how the words capture the essence of life and “Existence”. Hopefully you’ll enjoy the music and lyrics as much as I do…. Cheers.

“Saturn”, Lyrics by: Sleeping At Last
With shortness of breath, I’ll explain the infinite
How rare and beautiful it truly is that we exist.
Here I present the music I’m listening to this morning, from an Irish singer/songwriter Lisa Hannigan. I hope enjoy her singing, and you might like to see more of her on YouTube….
Lisa Hannigan: Lyrics.
“We, The Drowned”
We know not the fire in which we burn
But we sing and we sing
And the flames grow higher.
We read not the pages which we turn
But we sing, and we sing, and we sing, and we sing
We, the wrong,
We the sewn up and long gone,
Were before and all along
Like this
We, the drowned
The lost and found out,
We are all finished again.

Of course, I’ll pick a good Australian band, here I’ve chosen, ‘Augie March’, a lot of you might not have heard of them , from my state Victoria, and a country town called Shepparton. I love this song of theirs, ‘One Crowded Hour’, something like how I’m feeling as I’m heading in the one hour bus trip, to Melbourne airport, getting closer to take off… Yeah….

To my fabulous cousins in Philadelphia (and young Kerri)…. three songs of the ages, by the fantastic Tom Waits, and I think ” Waltzing Matilda” was one of Aunty Madge’s fav’s ….
I hope you all enjoy my song choices this morning, with a tear or two (I am too) see you ‘mob’ soon, April 29th !!! ((Hugs and Kisses, coming your way)) ……..

Five Shades Of Grey
Daylight turns into night
Ravens scatter in mid-flight
Dark clouds overlay
Five shades of grey
Thor’s hammer roars
His spark of fire, soars
Fiercely a flaming bolt strikes
Piercing frightened psychs

Hello dear readers, a happy St Patrick’s to you all. Last night I was fortunate enough to be able to go the Geelong Irish Society’s, St Patrick’s Day Cocktail Party. The evening was a glorious celebration, with lots of scrumptious food, stirring Irish music from the band, “Old Melbourne Rd”, and plenty of Irish fluids to encourage the participants to have a happy time. I’ve attached some photos and a videos from last night, and a photo from today’s St Patrick’s fundraising Fete at our local St Patrick’s school.
