Pink Moon

My “Moon” poems have been shining for 10 days now, and today “Pink Moon” is the final poem in my series of “Moon Poems”, which coincides with Holloween tonight …And this piece I wrote in April this year..

Pink Moon

Beyond the shimmering sand

And a comforting hand

A gracious spirit is in command

Wandering along life’s deviations

Are not treasonous reactions

A change of mindset to the left of centre

May create a mystical adventure

Tonight there shines a super-moon

Bring a bowl, cream, and spoon

And share in the sweetness of pink moonbeams

That revive lost souls and sanction forgotten dreams

Hypnotic Jasmine and Aromatic Coffee

On Weekly Prompts, the Weekend Challenge is post something just for the fun of it, and their prompt is: Just For Fun. Please go over and visit their fabulous site by clicking >> Here . .. And today my poem “Hypnotic Jasmine And Aromatic Coffee” is a fun piece I wrote at the ‘Box Office Cafe’ this afternoon…

Hypnotic Jasmine and Aromatic Coffee

Under a sapphire sky

bathing in purified sun

a cool sea-breeze drifts by

adroitly holding the exotic fragrance

of a hypnotic jasmine blossom

then the cafe’s aromatic coffee

flavours the air

as a tasty apple-slice

awaits to be sacrificed

beyond the pandemic’s vices

A Slithery Moon

Well readers, here I go again, another “Moon” poem …I hope you are still enjoying my moon theme week ….

A Slithery Moon

Sunday softy sings

Undone on the wind

For a drowning underling

Tiredness creeps in

Church bells ring

For more silent writings

Numbness drops a teaspoon

Eyes close for the afternoon

Awaiting a slithery moon

A Slithery Moon

Hi readers and followers, today I am re-posting another “Moon”poem, but here in this introspective piece (March 2021), the moon seems to be slipping away from me …

A Slithery Moon

Sunday softy sings

Undone on the wind

For a drowning underling

Tiredness creeps in

Church bells ring

For more silent writings

Numbness drops a teaspoon

Eyes close for the afternoon

Awaiting a slithery moon

Floating on the Moon

Hello readers and followers, today I am continuing with my theme of “Moom” poems, and if need to have a chat with me, “I am up here floating on the moon”

Floating On The Moon

I am not always wrong

And at times I may have been right

Behind my mask I smile

And at times I grimace

Numbness has entered my bones

Clumsiness guides my pen

Awkwardness precedes my stride

Uneasiness resonates in my voice

I am not able to walk on water

And at times I have sunk like a stone

I live within my soul’s cocoon

And at times I am floating on the moon

A Midday Moon

Hello readers and followers, … my “Moon” poem theme continues today with a repost from September 2019, and I hope you are all enjoying my collection of “Moonolgues”

A Midday Moon

Surprise, surprise, up there in the sky

Hidden by the glare, of noon’s golden eye

I saw the moon, being cradled by the midday sun

There, glowing like a silver button

As hundreds of human’s passed me unawares

I was staring in wonderment, at our worlds brightest stars

The sun’s white ray’s, wore soft gloves of silk

And the moon was like a baby, enjoying mother’s milk

A chance of a lifetime I captured

Our sun and moon’s moment of embracing rapture

To The Moon And Back

Well, say hello spring

You’re certainly flashing us your everything

A warm mild morning

Followed by midday sunshine

Then suddenly a wild storm

Lightening and heavy rain

Windy squalls, umbrella’s flying

And down the fat hail came

While the dark sky opened his jaws

I wondered if it was like this

On our faraway moon

So without further ado

I jettisoned myself there

Soaring into space

I left this human race

Just for a short time, anyways

I journeyed to the art gallery

Displaying a real moon show

Wilderness photos from yesteryears

Bold colourful impressions

From out of this world

Ancient traditional stories were also told

Old-time moon movies, on the big screen

Bold sculptures, of every shape imaginable

And a moonscape, seen through artist eyes

The wondrous afternoon escape, was my prize

Above Photos: Some friendly humans that I meet on the moon……

Throwback Friday, Moon Blossom(Revised), by Ivor Steven

My “Throwback Friday” article over at ‘Go Dog Go Cafe’ … and another poem about the “Moon”

ivor20's avatarGo Dog Go Café

There was a full moon last, so I thought my poem from June 2019 was an appropriate piece for this weeks ‘Throwback Friday’

Moon Blossom

The old moon knows

After a bitterly cold winter

There’s never a false spring

And Eve’s apple tree always blossoms

Then the full moon shyly shines

Casting moon-shadows upon sacred ground

And asks about the planet’s fading designs

“Where have all the ancient spirits gone”

However, the new moon remains alluring

And his moonbeams spoon our imagination

Yellow ripples shimmering across blue lagoons

Casting moon-shadows over lovers bedrooms

And love eventually conquers us all

When moon blossom ringlets gently fall

Did You Hear The Full Moon Sing?

Yesterday, spring arrived

Last night, a full moon ignited the sky

Today, warmth arose from the earth

Everywhere I walked

Nature stood there bountiful and proud

Everywhere I looked

Nature displayed her colourful shrouds

I saw a glossy black pony

Glowing in the paddock moonlight

And a garden of purple flowers

Bouncing in the sunlight

I saw tree-house sanctuaries

Homes for mystical faeries

And hollowed out logs

Comfy beds for spiders and frogs

Tonight, nature’s mockingbird will sing a lullaby

Tomorrow, the universe will hear no lie or alibi

Salt

This week the midweek challenge from “Weekly Prompts is: FAMILIARITY. Please go over and visit their fabulous site by clicking >> Here ..
I suppose my poem today has that “Familiarity” of my words being in created in the pleasant surroundings at my ‘Box Office Cafe’

Salt

A scent of sea air drifts by

As the sun cascades into my eyes

And Spring is flowing from the sky

“My river of renewal” she decries

“Taste my salty breeze and feel alive”
