TRUE

written by: Ivor Steven

@ivors20

If there is something
I could do
I would do anything
To save you
Mother Nature, you are everything
I look up to
My words are nothing
Compared to you
You are the orchestrator of things
With a balcony view

Lines to Nowhere

As my drapes fell apart
I saw a setting eclipse
And I decided to walk
To the south side of the moon

Carrying my plastic spoon
There, a giant vanilla cheesecake
Rolled over the crusty moonscape
On a giant crumbly base
Topped with blueberries and cream
Laying here in bed, life is but a dream

The evening skyline begins to drool
Am I, a full moon’s fool?
I will meet you at the old school
Down by the empty pool
This time we will not be ridiculed

Schoolyards and Lizards

Enter Richard the lizard

A wise and withered wizard

Who stealthily slithered and delivered

His magic beyond pandemics and blizzards

Recreating a safe haven

An unsmeared and inured schoolyard

To be shared by the children

Without the National Guard

MILES FROM HOME

written by: Ivor Steven

@ivors20

Today
I went left, instead of right
No matter what direction
Or decision I choose
At the end of day
There will be night
My time to rest
And remain out of sight

Tomorrow
I shall take the back roads
Miles away from my troubled life
Miles and miles
Beyond those evil eyes of strife

Tonight
I will sleep under the stars
With my loyal companion
By my side

Now
He gives me that inquisitive stare
“Don’t look at me like that
I know mate, I know
I should never have left the wife”

Rivers Of Love (a Tanka, with an introduction quote)
Written by, Ivor Steven

How many rivers of tears must I cry. Before all the deepest wells run dry”Ivor Steven, May 2012

The hail’s coldness stings
An old wind pierces my eyes
As yesterdays tears
Etch raw ravines in my cheeks
Her rivers of love run deep
