The Bunny With Orange Ears
The young bunny
Sat there quietly
Nibbling on the grass
Looking through my
rose coloured glasses
His big orange ears
Showed no fear
Until I was very near
Then he high-tailed
For the bushes and rails

Yes β¦ he loves chasing bunnies β¦ but heβs too slow to catch them β¦ and chasers only as far as the bushes and rails β¦ πΆ

PS…we always have bunnies/rabbits on our property. Old Coop can still smell them, but he can’t see them anymore. So he only chases bunnies in his dreams! π π

Ha! He’s a good boy! π Coop never caught any either…he, also, liked lizards, but they are way too fast for him, too. π

Frankie comes back looking so proud of himself β¦ I havenβt got the heart to tell him that the bunnies are scared and will runaway anyhow πππΆ

He sure is a cutie! π° We have a lot of bunnies on our property. I think they know who we are and aren’t easily chased away. π π

I love your poem, Ivor. Young Winnie has caught two already which is a shame, I love seeing the rabbits. Iβm hoping theyβll learn to stick to the fields and not the garden. Iβve seen the foxes catch them too. π
