G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

Insatiable greed has been mankind birthmark from the very beginning. You would be surprised how many species were driven to near extinction in the time when centuries were still counted in single digits! I love how you tied this into the world as we know it today.
Great post Ivor those animals are magnificent and your verse captures our paradox well – our unique ability to cooperate on a massive scale is often the thing that fuels our uniquely massive scale of destruction!
We humans get insulted when called “animals” when it should be the other way around. There’s much we can learn from these amazing creatures. Thank you, my friend, for this wonderful poem and the great music of Nick Cave. 🥰🦬🎶
Oh, Ivor! Such truth, wisdom, and importance is found in this brilliant poem and posting! Thank you for writing this poem and sharing it! I wish every person in the world could read your poem!
‘Tis so so SO deeply sad and angering how greedy and selfish humans are! 😦 Humans should learn from animals, yet so rarely do. 😦 Nature wants to teach and so few listen. 😦
(((HUGS))) and ❤️❤️❤️
So very true and even though we know what’s happening we don’t know who to stop the greedy hateful men from doing it. That never makes sense, since there are only a few of them and millions and millions of us.
and that is why, we, as a species, deserved to get WIPED off of this planet, because we are too selfish, we have a total DISREGARD for other life forms, blindly believing, that we are the HIGHEST thinking, functional beings on the planet, that we dominate over EVERYTHING.
wonderful poem Ivor! I loved it! ❤

Such wise thoughts, Ivor. And you’re right, Bison are bulbous! So, thank you for joining in. 🙂

When I saw your “bulbous” I inserted it in front of ‘bison’ and accidently the phrase seemed to work well, Sue … 🥰
