There’s a lady on the horizon,
Standing against the dusk.
Viewing her sinking sun.
She’s not quite in tune,
Hiding between the dawn,
And her fading moon.
A quietly gracious lady,
On her old verandah bench.
Sitting between her shallow pond,
And her broken fence.
Waiting patiently to be set free,
To beyond her flowering wattle tree.
Glowing against her brightest star-light,
Avoiding her darkest night

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

Thanks, not sure how they happen, the wet paint seems drip off the brush easily.

The paint may drip, but it still forms wonderful words and images. Well done my friend.

I want to know what she’s waiting for. It sounds like the young girl from Jonny Lingo

I have no idea where you come up with some of these poems, but I love them. Your poems can be interpreted in dozens of ways. I look at the gracious lady waiting patiently for the end of her life, not fearing it, and pondering what is next. Thanks Ivor. I’ll have to stop in more and review some poems I missed. Take care.
