My Smashed Pumpkin Brains, has just been published in the extraordinary, “Slasher Monster Magazine”, Thanks to all at SMM….

What’s it like to be an orange Pumpkin-head
Only black sockets for eyes instead.
And a cut-out smile full of seeds.
Queer ears made of rings and beads.
Inside, your brain is scooped out for pigs feed
Leaving a dark void that doesn’t bleed.
On top you’re like a crinkled dome.
And your sore neck’s being speared home.
What’s it like to have a retina thread
As a throbbing nerve-end tread.
With your cell fibres smashed to a pulp
Knifing across your tender scalp.
Ebbing towards your aching neck
And crushing you like a busted shipwreck.
Then a wooden spike pierces your fragile brain
Where the horrid harpoon spreads your pain.

Congratulations Ivor! Well done.

just fantastic Ivor! Very sharp and snappy! A wonderful Helloween contribution and an honest, bitter condition description. which is hopefully not up to date!

Ivor it is terribly to feel like this. It is cruel and no horror of the world will approach these feelings. Thank you for writing down what so many people need to feel.
I tried to think about it. Who triggers these feelings? People. Who feels? People. Emotions are given and received. Most people think that they only give love no hatred (at least that’s what I think). Is it true? Probably not. There are no people who only have good things inside and people who only have bad things inside. There is always both, even if we are not aware of it. We are always victims and perpetrators. Maybe it helps, if you, feeling like a pumpkin head, that you make others feel like themselves as a pumpkin head aswell? Not really, but much better the converse: I make sure that others no longer feel like a pumpkin head and I will feel so much less so myself !!!! That’s my solution, which pretty much satisfies me!
