One Day Follows
The abyss is bigger, not less.
On these days of darkness.
The owls are singing sad tunes.
On these days of bad moons.
The brain is harpooned again
On these days of constant pain.
The sunshine has gone, I confess.
On these days of over stress.
The mind has little attitude.
On these days of sleepy solitude.
An Answer Follows
You’ve all walked into my heart.
And you’ve ran into my past.
You’ve all flooded into my soul.
And you’ve soared into my dreams.
I crave for that….. one day soon.
Tomorrow, or another day too.
That all your hearts.
Will be bathing themselves,
In the soothing oils
Of your glorious souls.
I’d like to thank my dear friends Mel and Jane, for being the inspiration behind the words of Β “An Answer Follows”.
Ivor Steven.

This poetic prose doesn’t touchy soul, it caresses my soul. So full of longing and heartache and love. True beauty, Ivor.

Oh Kelvin, so nice to hear such praise from you. I’m just home from the pub, but I forced myself to go, I figured I’m better off being out and chatting to my friends, rather than staying at home and being grumpy with myself…. thankyou for for your comment, muchly appreciated… xx

Ivor you can weave a day’s, or a moment’s, emotions so well. I’m glad you went out. I just heard a quote on the radio, it was someone talking about a movie and the person in the movie (I forget which movie! ) was sad/in a bad mood. And someone was trying to lift their spirits and the man said something to the effect of “just let him enjoy this bad feeling”. It was about how we sometimes just have to let ourselves exist in that bad feeling for a short time, to process it all. Or to just experience it, because it matters.

This is gorgeous π soulful poetry. There is so much pain. I could feel it all through your words, yet I could sense underlying hope and escape. You are moving forward still and transcending your suffering in your art. You are incredibly talented, Ivor. I am a faithful admirer.

It’s Only 9.00pm here and I’m heading off to bed already, about three hours short of my normal nite nite time, but I’m tired and that’s that…..Thank you so much for your lovely comments, made me smirk and smile…. and I shall rest well, with a cheesy grin on my face. And a couple of pieces of chocolates… xx

Yes, It was the answer to the first part, and its my first go at this sort of different format of contrasting verses, and I found it an interesting challenge.

I don’t know how I missed this – it happened a week before the dramas that distracted me. The poems are lovely, and it’s wonderful to know that I helped to inspire the second one; unless it was another Jane. Tell me, do you collect Janes? π

Ah , I’ve only collected one Jane β‘β‘

there’s a over flowing of emotion we can’t stop and I feel better after I have connected with someone else. not necessarily about my sorrow or struggle just connecting with another human is important.

I feel the same, the connecting, always helps me, and it’s all about sharing and caring. Thank you for listening and sharing and caring, I truly enjoy our chats, and I’m so pleased we’ve met here, and although our circumstances of life are different, we definitely have similar compassion and empathies. xx Now to face my day, Cheers from Ivor.
