To all young hearts, bought and sold.
Broken, shattered, and made of gold.
Have you ever watched your love die.
Have you seen tears of sand in her eyes.
Did you ever feel her grasp let go.
Did you see her blood drain of flow.
To all you who pretend, reading here.
To all you who think, you know how and where.
Have you ever been in the death ambulance.
Have you held her hand without a glance.
Life happens like that, you see.
Happened to me, not a chance to plea.
I traveled often, with her and thee.
So many times, angels entered her grave.
How many times would she be so brave.
More than a dozen, through the heartache years.
Finally a thirteenth chariot, did fill, with tears and fears.
Ivor Steven (c) 2018.
how moving and sad Ivor. Although I am no longer young but feel addressed and know what you are talking about, even if I have not experienced your grief. We all die a little bit each day, some days more and some days less , on some days we think it’s time to go for ever.

And here was I expecting a little sunshine to come our way.
I’ve been there too Ivor and those moments are re-lived over and over. If only we knew how to control it, those blues that hit us every now and then.
I have a feeling they’ll become less and less and I’m expecting that very soon. 🙂

Thank you ❤️ Sue, they do become less and less, and I had an incident yesterday that triggered the moment, but I’m fine, my writings help me get through the moment. 😊 xx

Hi Claudia, I was having a recall moment, probably triggered by an incident yesterday, and I wrote it all done, the pouring out of words, always seems to help me. Yep, there were plenty of rough rides.

I wish, on nights like this, that I could sit with you over a cup of tea. And listen. Just listen to the love and ache, Ivor.

That would be nice Colleen, we’d need lots of tea, lots of time, I’ve got lots of stories, and lots of love to share. ❤️

Thanks Jan, I was trying to send a message to the young about how they haven’t seen nor experienced the realities of life yet, and there’s always those hardships to come….

Oh Amberley, thank you for your thoughtful comments, I’m very touched by your lovely words. These events happened a while ago, but last week I had some huge memory flashes, and I just felt compelled to write them down, I seem too feel betterer after sharing my most inner thoughts, and thank you for listening to my heart, and for grasping a piece of my Angel’s celestial stardust.

I don’t really rhink it matyers how long ago a loss occurs…I think we just get used to the hurt… I’m sorry about the flashes… did something happen to bring them about?
It is good that you have an outlet…
