Gradually the dying moonlight awakened my dawn.
And the baptizing sunrise watered my eyes.
Drowning the working hours of my shallow day.
Dampening fiery thoughts of playing in the hay.
Dusk hazily shrouds my cemetery lawn.
And the rituals of sunset beckon my daily plight.
Flailing and falling upon sleepless night.
Finally laying prone under my weighted crown.

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

Thank you Kayla for appreciating my versatility, I enjoy trying to mix it up, but that’s just me I suppose, I write about all my mixed ups and downs…..

Life is definitely a combination of the ups and down

Writing seems to help me get out of the downs, and the friendships gained through WP, has also been of great personal benifit to me.

Your weighted crown…thoughts? dreams? anxieties? memories? I love this phrase Ivor, I can feel it’s weight in your words.

Could be all of those, but I’ve had my neuralgia for a few days, but it’s a reasonably mild one, compared to some.

Amazing what a bit of neuralgia can do to ones head

Neuralgia obviously feeds your creativity – or does it nudge your Muse to put pen to paper?

Well it’s keeping me up tonight, 12.30am here, I think I was just trying to purge the pain away, although I shouldn’t complain, it’s quite a mild dose compared to some.

Ooops – it’s late, it’s late, I have a very important date with slumber. Hope the neuralgia eases.

I know just where you’re coming from on this Ivor. Good morns and bad morns, but tomorrow is another day, a new dawn and a new sunset. Everything changes from day to day, thatβs the way we roll xx π
