Oh, how I do over stretch
then like a faithful dog
I return after the chase and fetch
balancing life on a rolling river log
I was waiting last year
waiting last month
waiting last week
waiting yesterday
I’m waiting again tonight
I might as well keep waiting
Wait for what I’ve been waiting for
To see a crack in the wall
to stop your fall
may you grow tall
as the light calls
Anger is danger
anger is not love
danger is heavy
danger is not love
love is respect
love is not crushing

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

A question is better than numb at all

Yes, I’m not feeling numb, just frozen inside a cube of questions.

Questioning afterwards is all to confusing
Because we only remember the series of events that we think happened but reality it didnt happen that way at all
Trust me I’ve been caught by this web of deceit more than I would like to admit

I don’t see or comprehend gloss and glamour, I’m not a material man, and life is simple for me, I’ve no deep bullshit to wade through, maybe that’s why I may appear insightful.

Thank you ❤️ Soiba, I really try to keep my writings simple and easy to read, emotions aren’t felt in big fancy words, they’re expressed in everyday handshakes, hugs, gentle caresses, and loving eye contact 😊

how the second stanza makes me sad…. to wait is the most painful thing ever…. and outcome of it (if in favor of us) is the most beautiful moment we can ever get to experience in life…..
Beautifully written it is…

Well, Ivor. I have no doubt that you will find love; especially, since you understand that it is found in the simplest things. Thanks for a wonderful read. I’ve been telling female friends about this special guy in Geelong. Don’t be surprised if airplane bookings to Australia start picking up.

Thanks Patrick, that’s great news mate, and soon we’ll have international air-flights straight to our Geelong, Avalon terminal, and I’ll be able to wave to them as they’re coming in😊😎

This:
“I was waiting last year
waiting last month
waiting last week
waiting yesterday
I’m waiting again tonight
I might as well keep waiting
Wait for what I’ve been waiting for”
Simultaneously breaks my heart and gives me hope. “Having” to wait can be so hard. “Willing” to wait for what you desire/hope/anticipate is beautiful.

Yes, I’m a willing to wait. The actual post is just a collection of “Bits” that I’ve written in comments to my friends/bloggers post over the last week. I quite often comment with little poems and sayings. And of course I’ve lost them all, so I’ve decided to try and save them and put them in a post every now and then, called Tit Bits…..

Brilliant Ivor. Just brilliant. (Just as an aside, I wrote a piece I called “Beef Tits”. It’s pretty funny has NOTHING to do with what you wrote. Just the title. 🙂 )

Lol sounds funny. It might be brilliant, only if I remember to write my anecdotes down 🤔
