Yellow
There she silently stays
Baking under daily sun-rays
An old warriors chariot
Vehicle of love and riot
Deliverer of play and gain
Carrier of our angel in the rain
A working yellow submarine
Shipping friends and our queen
Transporting them all
Here and there, having a ball
Green
I’m green with envy
Overnight, mother natures been
Healing my poison ivy
A miracle potion unseen
Mosaics of Autumn leaves
A queens robe of gold and brown
Warm quilts from the trees
Nurturing globes in the ground

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

“An old warrior’s chariot/vehicle of love and riot/deliverer of play and gain/carrier of our angel in the rain.” That is the stuff, Ivor! Wish I’d written it.

Thanks Oglach, the “Yellow” was written 6 years ago, and “Green” I wrote tonight, but for some reason ?? I put them together, I think it worked ok.

Thank you for your kind comment, and yes I read some of your posts, But you didn’t have an “About You” in your menu, and I’m not really in favour of anonymous writers.

I will fix that. And thank you for taking the time to read!

I like reading the poems you mesh, a reflection and a hope makes very pretty words.

It wasn’t deliberate, I was playing with the old poem and thought of green and Autumn, and all of sudden the Green poem came to fruition and then I put them together, and as you say the outcome was a good mixture.

it was indeed. maybe it was in your subconscious and a trigger brought it to surface. certain words can do that.

Ode to a dependable chariot and the memories it carried. I love the look this old chariot is giving you in this picture. Do you see it?
LikeLiked by 1 person
Haha, I wanted to do it up and give it to away to a carer in need. š but the old chariot had run her race and the rust of time had overcome herš¶

It was such a bonus for Carole’s continuing quality of living, and independence. Even the carers were able to take her out on day trips.

I know it makes such a huge difference. There have been so many people’s lives I have walked into (because of work) where the ability to ‘go’ has been taken/stolen from them. WHat a difference in their quality of life.
