G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems. That is why we strive so hard to return to our child years…Ignore the rest of the world and just play…

Such a pity that we all add to their corruption.

love the black and white photo, the beauty of childhood captured in innocent play, too soon they grow and become contaminated by unkindness

We definitely had a much longer childhood when were young, The modern world is pushed into our children far too early.

yes totally right about that, I had the most wonderful childhood but do realise that my kids weren’t given that much freedom, we worried about safety too much, the world was getting scarier.

It’s wonderful to see the world through the innocence of young children’s eyes
