Below A Loyal Sky

I hide behind a mask
You’ll hear me ask

At the local veil sales

Lurking in the back pews

Sneaking a view

From under a curtain of blue

Indigo-blue, below a loyal sky

Protecting alien spy eyes

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

    1. Photograph and poem match perfectly. At first sight, just looking at the photo made me think of Lawrence of Arabia. The poem is very nice and has a delicious air of mystery.

    1. We’ll I’m back from work, I’ve been rained out this afternoon, and it’s only a cold 9’C here. Your comments are spot on, as I was trying to creat that mystical touch to my “alien eyes”, that was nearly going to be the Title, but I think “Below A Loyal Sky” left more up the the readers imagination.

    1. I appreciate your colourful comments, Haha there’s no more, I got stuck with the finish, sometime my idea is just a small one, and I don’t like to expand out of my central thought . so my poem comes out cout concise and mysterious.
I’m ok but it’s cold gloomy and wet here again today, ..3’C brrrr

    1. Thanks Sue, it’s the “Dr Who” side of me coming out, this is what happens if you let your grand- kids watch Sci-fi for the next 55 years, hehehe, they’ll end up like Ivor with his Alien Eyes.
