Dear friends
Last night I went out
Enjoyed myself
Good company and plenty of fun
There were some children there
I saw the children laughing
At the foolish antics
Of us silly adults
I arrived back home
After midnight
Then I read in bed
Some of my blog comments
Responses to my recent poems
About “We can help the children”
I was deeply touched
I started crying
Emotions tore at my heartstrings
Tears flooded my soul
Your replies were sincere
And compassionately moving
Dear friends
I thank you
One and all
May our solidarity
“Help the children”

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

Its to close to my heart how these children are being treated how we turned a blind eye to look into forgotten souls who lead the test of us to water to drink

I’m crying, I cry every morning, every time I turn a page, every time I open my eyes, every time I dream, It’s time to stop the children crying.

I have been little more than a puddle of tears today, that is quickly becoming an ocean. This letter is one of your many masterpieces. I’m sure that as an Australian, you know the history behind “You’re the Voice” and John Farnham…I love it, the story and the song! I am also honored and gratified that you choose to share the quotes that I so love. “The only international language in the world is a child’s cry.” – Eglantyne Jebb. In April of 1919 she was the founder of Save The Children along with her sister, Dorothy Buxton. Thank-you and yet again, Thank-you !!

Yes, I hope it will!
And we thank YOU, dear friend!
I was watching a movie recently about silence and I knew the thing I’d miss the most if people were forced to be silent would be the laughter of children. We must make the world a safe peaceful place where all the children in the world can play and laugh.

very beautiful words Ivor and the children will one day read this, and know they were loved though not known personally, they are really so precious, it hurts to see them manipulated and used. your reflections are brutal and pure at the same time
