Tit Bits #13

This is my 13th writing of “Tit Bits”, and coincidently today is Friday 13th. I’m not sure whether this means good luck or bad luck for my post today ??

Our pain is like rain

The pain comes and goes

Heavy and light

He’s got us trumped

There’s more poison

In his venom

The facts are there, for all to see

But all the blind eyes are covered in cotton wool

Their ears are buried in the sand

And toes paddling in their own bullshitΒ quagmire

Now is the time to help

Doing the little things that count

Little step after little step

And in time they become one big stride

I hope these tears of mine

Become the glassy mirrors

Of hope

For the frightened children

They need our love

Love is a life-line

Love feeds a soul

Love revives a heart

Love is the meaning of life

Life is love

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

    1. Oh, thank you, and yes, every little bit helps, every little step, every little piece of love, every little piece we give, shall evetually help, it’s all about us the populace of the world telling “THEM”

  1. Oh Ivor, this poem touches the deepest recesses of my heart and soul. It also has the power to elicit more of my tears of sorrow for these children. The musical selection is beautiful too. It would seem that I should be already dried of tears today, as I have been watching and listening to “Broadway United : We Are The World”. We are the world and we must be heard and we must save these children! John F. Kennedy said : “Children are the worlds most valuable resource and its best hope for the future.” As always, Thank-you!

    1. I was born to Bea plumber in my father’s footsteps, I’ve become a bit of a writer, I wish I had been chosen to be humanitarian politician/president so I could save the world πŸ—Ί xx

  2. You are too modest, you are a gifted writer and the world will always need plumbers! All I ever desired to be was a nurse and so I was for over 45 years. Now, I’m just a Gem (my only Grandchild, Benjamin, gave me that name)! I never aspired to save the world, just to simply improve my corner of it…and I like to think that I mostly have succeeded. However, if there is reincarnation, I’d like to be Jane Goodall.

      1. I was a pediatric nurse for children with special needs. I was blessed to have received far more from them than I ever was able to give. I began my career during the time when nurses wore completely white dress uniforms, white hosiery, white shoes and always our caps. Sadly, that ended many, many years ago. I was always proud to have shared part of that history. Your Mother’s picture inclines me to think that it is something we shared. Thank-you for sharing her photo.

      2. My mother ended running a day care centre for the elderly, and I know she was truly adored by all of those attended her joy filled days.
