Weekly Prompts. Word Prompt. Advantage
When it’s so hard to get out of my warm bed
I force myself to throw the sheets off
And I face another day again
When the light doesn’t go on above my head
I replace the globe and flick the switch
And I see Again
When my shower hot water turns cold
I patiently wait for the boiler to reheat
And I shall be ready again
When the toaster burns my bread
I turn the grey dial down to three
And I restart again
When the kettle runs bone dry
I dutifully refill the jug
And enjoy a cuppa’ again
When breakfast is done and it’s time to run
I feel the advantage of being alive
And I smile at my world again
Ivor Steven (c) 2018

I like the last stanza muchly

My music’s always playing. Although my computer has crashed this weekend, and I’m only on my phone, which I find so very hard, blogging, reading and writing on the small screen. 😊

Oh, I hear that. I hate doing anything on my phone.

Yep, they’re either too small, or I’m too old and clumsy. 😊

Love it Ivor! Totally agree about the phone. As a computer (of sorts) I use it when needs must, but much prefer the screen of my computer or the iPad. I like to see everything at its best and not as the smallest version available.

I’ve just written a poem about it, and posting soon, but it’ll be my last one, until my computer is fixed. It’s just too hard for me ☺️ Oh I’m so pleased you liked my my little poem, 🙄😉

I did Ivor I enjoyed very much. So sorry about your computer. Here’s an idea for you. You prefer to hand write don’t you? Use one of the phone note pads and read into the microphone. Then after editing copy and paste into WordPress. Worth a try 😊

its the routines of our life that keep me moving forward, burnt toast and all, oh i have those days too and happy we share a common human story. even your daily life sounds like a pretty poem Ivor, i like the simplicity of this poem, it’s so refreshing.
