Saturday was a brilliant day
Last night the rain poured into Sunday
The heavy drops washed lustre away
A cold wind cut through my chest today
I’m reading the news from yesterday
The vulnerable children are still crying
Court deadlines are being ignored
Thousands of innocent hearts still torn
Pierced by government swords
Wielded from behind their closed doors
Hear the multitude’s pleading words
Listen to your conscience
See the children’s pain
Let their candles burn in the rain
A special thanks to Elle, for supplying the above quote by Margaret Mead, and to Sue for her guidance in setting up my “Voice to Text” app’

I’m just laying here on my lounge, relaxing and trying to do some blogging on my phone. It’s a cold wet and windy day here. 🙄

It seems some world leaders, and so many adults, are focused on so many unimportant, selfish things that the innocents continue to suffer. 😦 Each day, each injustice, each feeling of fear, sadness, despair, etc., rip deep wounds in those little hearts and souls. 😦
Thank you for this powerful poem, quote, and song post, Ivor.

Thank you for the hugs Carolyn, I think our governments need to go and hug the children and personally feel them tremble and have their tears spill upon their selfish egos 😢😭❤️

They do! It’s sad tho’ that some would have to see the faces, hear the cries, feel the fear, etc., before they would do anything. Just hearing about the children should be enough to take positive action.

Yes !! I’m not sure of the exact quote, the one common language of the world is that of a childs cry…..

Thank you ❤️ Beckie, the children need our support, and I loved Melanie (a big crush) back in 1970. Maybe you could use another song of hers for your Music Friday, Ruby Tuesday,

There should be no forgiveness for causing the suffering of innocent children. There are no excuses for the inexcusable actions of governments against children. “Safety and security don’t just happen, they are the result of collective consensus and public investment. We owe our children, the most vulnerable citizens in our society, a life FREE of violence and fear.” – Nelson Mandela. If I were a gifted poet like yourself, I would not need to depend upon other people’s words to speak for me…but, I’m not and so I do! I am pleased that the quotes speak to you too. Lovely song too. Thank-you!
