G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

Ivor, this is hear the
chimes of freedom flashing.
This is illuminating reading.
Thanks David, It was last nights dream, and these are the words I jotted down while I was half asleep/half awake, sometime in the middle of the night. I actually missed out a tercet, i’m putting it in now.
This is very good. I know all to well the sentencing of the people under the steeple. The log in the eye is hard to dislodge sometimes. Faith can be regained though and Iβm glad to read that part. Wonderful Ivor!
I’m not very religious Gina, but the meaning of faith here for me, is faith in myself, regaining my faith in human nature, and spiritually my faith in the journey my life is taking. I suppose that is what religion is all about, xx
religion is what it is to the individual and i won’t ever comment but have the most respect for what you believe in, we all need a belief to guide us and i am happy to read that you have that spirituality in your life. we are all on a journey and i am still learning how that journey works for others. having faith in yourself is very important and that is a beautiful start.
I’m so happy this poem ended with refound faith for you, Ivor. I’m sorry you had to endure all of that. π¦ But, I can relate. And I’m still in the process.
I played the song while I read through your poem twice. The song and your poem are powerful together.
You’re too kind Laiba, and thank you for reading so many of my poems today. As you now know, I’ve had lots of computer problems, and still ongoing, and I’m sorry if I’ve missed some of your posts π
Great music choices I compliment your words very well. “My tears have become my bread, by night, by day, As I hear it said all day long ” “Where is your God?” “Guess you kick started a “religious” theme in all of us without even thinking Ivor?”
Oh I didn’t mean to start a religious theme Chris, I’m not a religious person, my use of faith here, is the return of faith in myself, faith in humanity, and faith in my own spiritual feelings, but I suppose that’s what religion is about.

The most important of all of this, is the end which is not the end. It’s the renewal and strengthening.

Faith indeed is what matters most at the end even if that end seemed to be still endless..

I love this and related to this, big time. Beautiful. Found my way back to Love, a spiritual path rather than a religion. I find so much peace in embracing the questions and mysteries, and denying all certainties. ” Croyez ceux qui cherchent la vΓ©ritΓ©, doutez de ceux qui la trouvent.” AndrΓ© Gide (Believe those who seek the truth, doubt those who find it.) I really like this song too thank you for sharing it. Another new artist. =) β₯.
