G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

I just want to send hugs and good energising thoughts. remembering is so bittersweet.
Thanks for the hugs, my memories are mostly sweet these days, I hope my words convey my good energies. Although it’s back to reality today, I’m plumbing in the afternoon. Have a good day Gina..
Very observant Robert, actually the 4 stanza’s were little poems I’d written over the weekend, and this morning I join them together, and the longer poem is the result, I’m hoping it does’t read too disjointed.
5.50pm here Sue, a cool wind blows, through my courtyard, 11’C under my verandah, but I’m still barbecuing for dinner. Thank you for your lovely comments.
This poem is so poignant and beautiful, Ivor! One of your best!
I can’t even imagine the pain and loss you have been through. 😦 You must miss her so so so much. 😦 But, I know she is still with you in so many ways and will always be in your heart. 🙂 And she would want you to think of the good memories and smile and laugh…as you move forward. 🙂
(((HUGS)))
Thank you for the Hugs….. we went through
a lot together, and I’m not sure what I’ve sent you, but you might like to read “Olive Eyes” and “Stroke, Who’s Left To Row The Boat” ,
I watched my mom go through what you describe. It broke my heart to watch hers shatter. I’m so glad you are finding a way back to peace and joy, Ivor. You deserve so much joy and love in your life. ♥.

Gorgeous poem! Goes perfectly with Cohen’s song.

The last verse contains so much tenderness and pain, it’s almost a separate poem.

Ivor, I sighed while reading this. A sigh of appreciation, a sigh of recognition (of love), a sigh that there is such a soul here (yours).
