I’m reposting today, with this song “Spirit Bird”, by Xavier Rudd, and his lyrics are a pure statement from the heart, please read along with music, and cry with me, for our spirits and our land.
“Leaving us
Stunned
Hollow ashamed”
Hungrily I’m eating a liquor chocolate
A selfish heavenly delight
Arousing my old minds senses
I wonder
What she would be thinking
Looking down from the stars
Through her sensitive olive eyes
Her everlasting smile
Her gracious courage
Her generous heart
Her forgiving soul
Her love for me and you
I wonder
What she would be thinking
Seeing these futile bloody wars
Through her compassionate olive eyes
The dead and maimed
The millions of shuffling homeless
The distraught broken families
The crying children locked in sheds
The desperate refugees with no beds
I wonder
What she would be thinking
While she preciously holds the last white dove
Observing these senseless wars
That never never end
Ivor Steven (c) 2018

Maybe she’d ask you for a chocolate 🍫

Why do too few people listen,
to the brilliant among us?
Like you.
Why do too many people listen to Donald-Duck Trump?
Why do people pay attention to the Kardashians?
I am ashamed of ourselves.

I’m afraid us humans(adults) have a lot to answer for, but most of the time it comes down to greed(money and more money) and selfishness, and of course that feeds the basic ingredients for corruption,…… Oh shit, sorry, I don’t mean to preach, you already know 🙄… Cheers, Ivor 🌏 xx

A Thoughtful and beautifully written poem. You are a good man Ivor in this broken world of ours. She would be very proud of you that’s for sure.

It is truly heartbreaking that this will never end and those who can do something about it won’t do anything .

Thank you for reading and commenting, and indeed the greed in our world seems to be insatiable. We shall battle on and do our best, we are the writers and we have a say, with the power of our pens. 😊 Oh, sorry, I do get carried away….. Cheers, Ivor 🌏 🌍🌎😊

You are kindly welcome. I totally agree with you. We must not give up hope and never cease to raise our voice. May the ink in our pens flow forever! Oops! Your fervour is contagious, I too got carried away! 😊

Almost twenty years into a new century, and these wars do appear as if they are never going to end. So well done Ivor. Sadly, so much truth in your words.

Thank you Drew, and I wish there wasn’t so much truth to it all,

Thank you Paul, I’m not sure my words worked properly, but we all sit around within our own high ideals eating the chocolates of life, and watch, and watch, and watch, wars, wars, wars, like war is just a TV show. humans have lost themselves in their unreal digital world, and become just like the old idiot square box……

This world is certainly a complex place to live on. Why must there be so much hatred? When kindness and peace are so much easier. 💗

The hatred comes from the greed and selfishness
