Good morning dear readers, today’s poem is one I wrote on my phone while I was lying in bed early this morning, half asleep or half awake, answering a few of my readers comments. I would like to sincerely thank Kate of Calmkate – aroused,Β for inspiring me to write this piece, despite me being in a state of dreamy slumber.
Hills And Hollows
I’m a sprightly sparrow
I don’t like to wallow
Come fly with me tomorrow
Above the hills and hollows
I’ll swim the river of sorrow
Walk through fields of green and yellow
Pushing my old empty barrow
Full of my memories to follow
Looking for her golden halo
Somewhere over the rainbow
Ivor Steven (c)Β 2018

Ivor, this is delightful.
Spring is in the air, and
you’ve just convinced me
to head back home.
If not today, perhaps tomorrow?

And some blessed rain
to fill the weir …
no need for sacrificing Heidi.

That was lovely Ivor. π
I’m not inspired to write poetry first thing, but I frequently reach out for the iPad and start to make notes of ideas that I’ve woken up with.

We’ve all had a dip in that river of sorrow Ivor – some come to the surface less scarred than others.

Ivor this created SUCH a visual for me. It seems to paint ‘you’ very clearly in your love for Carole, and your journey.
