Hysteria

Yesterday’s ancient graves

Sent me a parting wave

Passing the higher fools

Leaving me to drool

My body was shivering

Bones were rattling

My leftovers are for the taking

Mum’s sponge-cake is baking

I need a change of attitude

A party at high altitude

Up here on level seven

Close to heaven

I could invite my unknown bacteria

Sing along to Leonard, sharing hysteria

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

    1. Oh Rose, you’ve given me a big smile, although I’m not well. 😊 I’m struggling to concentrate and writing and reading is difficult, but I’ve managed to do a few poems since I’ve been in hospital. 😊 Lovely to hear from you Rose 🌹 xxx

    1. Thank you ❀️ Gina, and don’t forget Mum’s sponge-cake. I hope you can get a bit of a break from work on the weekend. It’s 1.00am here, and I’ve just had my 2nd change of bedsheets tonight, soaked, from my fever sweat. Hopefully I’ll be able to get back to sleep now. I’m happy my poem worked out OK. Anything I do at the moment is so difficult for me, my continual headache is mind sapping. 😊 xxx
